State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to launch Zero Voice tariff plans cheaper than Reliance Jio 4G services which offers unlimited lifetime free voice calls to mobile plan customers under 3G/2G services in all Telecom Circles.
As per latest information, BSNL Competent authority planned to offer unlimited voice tariff plans @ free of cost from January, 2017 onwards which will be much cheaper than BSNL competitor Reliance Jio’s entry level plan priced Rs.149/-.
On pilot project basis BSNL to launch entry level offer plans in Punjab, Uttarpradesh, Haryana, Himachalpradesh and Kerala Circles for mobile users.
In a statement BSNL CMD Anupam Shrivastava said, ‘We are closely observing the market as well as Jio's performance. We will also come up with lifetime free-voice plans from the new year as part of fresh offerings. We plan to be even lower than the Jio plan, and this could be by Rs 2-4’.
BSNL has decided to offer Zero tariff plans through Data services i.e the customers who have Broadband connection at home can avail these scheme. Free voice facility will also be available when a customer would use it outside the residence. The PSU plans to route the voice traffic through its Landline network.
The idea is to use the home broadband to route outgoing mobile calls through the landline network. We estimate that a large amount of time is spent at home, and so here we can ride on our wire-line operations," - BSNL CMD added
The MRP of the Unlimited Voice tariff plan will be offered less than Rs.149/- by Rs.2 to 4, in the above said telecom circles.
