Free Mobile Money Transfer for BPL Launched by BSNL and DOP

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had partnered with Department of Post to launch the pilot run of the mobile money transfer service announced in July, 2012 to start in major cities like Punjab, Delhi and Kerala Telecom Circles.
Now on 15-11-2012 Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal has been officially launched the Mobile Money Tranfer service and said Department of Post and Telecom Operator BSNL should waive-off fees charged on Money transfers by people in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category using newly launched MMT services.

How to avail this service:

The customer who want use this service need to visit the Post Offices where this service is available and submit the details along with their mobile number by depositing the amount. Immediately customer will get 16 digit transfer code on their mobile immediately customer need to send that 16 digit code to the recipient via SMS. The recipient by showing the transaction code at a nearby post office can claim the money or withdraw the money within 7 days of transaction.
Previously Department of Post had said that it intended to connect all 1,55,000 post offices across the country.
What are the charges applied:

The fee for Below Poverty Line (BPL) category people would be waived off yet. Other than BPL category people will be charged Rs.45 for sending money in the range of Rs.1000 to Rs.1500 , charges Rs.79 for sending money in the range of Rs.1501 to Rs.5000 and Rs.112 for money transfer in the range of Rs.5001 to Rs.10,000 as per report of Moneycontrol.
