Only 100 SMSes will be allowed in a day per SIM card

TRAI is taking up the issue of pesky calls and SMSes daily receiving by Mobile subscribers.
TRAI sets cap of 100 messages a day at concessional rates. For every SMS beyond the cap of 100 SMSes 50p will be charged.
Mobile Customers are very hugely facing the menace of receiving unwanted advertising SMSes from unregistered tele-markters who often take the advantage of concessional SMS offer by Telecom Operators.

TRAI announced to restrict bulk promotional SMS from telemarketers by using concessional pack from Telecom Operators has been placed on sending of more than 100 SMSes per day per SIM at a concessional rate.
Subscribers are free under this capping of SMS. They can send easily SMSes beyond 100 SMS per day per SIM shall be charged at a tariff of minimum 50 paise.
The solution will ensure that not more than 200 SMS with such similar ‘signature’ are sent in an hour.
Operators have to put in place a solution within three months which will esure that no commercial SMS are sent having same or similar character from any source number.
