APG University’s IT Students arrested involved in Cheating BSNL Rs.8 Lakhs

Cyber crime Police of Rajasthan have been arrested two Information Technology (IT) students from Shimla for allegedly defrauding BSNL and causing loss to the tune of Rs 8 lakhs.

Technical Investigation department of Cyber crime took 75 days long time to crack this case at last arrested two IT students from Shimla for hacking Data Infosys e-processing system and fraudulently recharging BSNL's prepaid more than 500 mobile phones value of Rs 8 lakh.

The students are from APG University’s IT department in shimla, doing second year named Kulshrestha Varma and Hardik Sud, both 19-years-old, used a cyber cafe to hack into the Data Infosys's website.

Addressing to media Mr.Rajendra Sharma Deputy SP, Cyber crime, that one Yogesh Gupta, a representative of Data Infosys, lodged an FIR on December 3 on the above fraud. "Gupta said Data Infosys runs an e-commerce setup to recharge Prepaid plans mobile connections of BSNL," said Sharma.

At the time of Auditing the company found that someone hacked their website and fraudulently stolen epin cards prepaid vouchers (BSNL Prepaid Recharged Cards) worth nearly 8 lakh.

Cyber crime department seized records from the cyber café where these two students hacked BSNL partner website. Police registered an FIR and carrying investigating. The involvement of several people including these two students came up.
