BSNL first network to start functioning during the flood turn into lifeline of Kashmir

One of the worst floods that the Kashmir valley has seen, where State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has again maintained it’s trustworthy of the people across the country whenever natural calamites occurred, now proved once again in Kashmir. BSNL was the first network to start functioning.

Major Private Telecom players like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea were also resuming their operations after the weather conditions had improved in the valley. However, it was more of a PR exercise rather that the solid work on the ground.

BSNL’s all the officers and staffs are associated working on war-basis for restoration. It was able to provide basic communication facility to the people of Kashmir and in a large part of the Valley. The network was moderately available on Sunday. “Next one week will be difficult as the level of water is very high,” said a BSNL official. “We will make sure that the quality of services improves in coming days.”
