BSNL 4G services to rollout in 14 Telecom Circles within few Weeks

BSNL is mechanizing to launch its prestigious 4G services in 14 Telecom Circles in India.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has already soft launched 4G services in Chandigarh now ready to explore in more Telecom Circles. 


BSNL is launching 4G services in methods, one is revenue sharing model and capex model. The company has 20MHz liberalized spectrum in 2,500 MHz band which allow it to rollout 4G services without any licensing barriers. 


As per latest information, BSNL under expansion of 4G services installing 4G base tower stations (BTS) in the existing GSM sites to reduce expenditure on towers. 


About the device network for 2500 MHz band, sufficient of 4G handset makers are already available in market from Micromax, Samsung, Nokia, Google brands at online stores or retail stores or company stores.


BSNL demonstrated speed of 35 MBps in January during the soft launch in Chandigarh. Now, BSNL is ready to launch its 4G services after major telecom players Bharati Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Celluar commencing services in selected telecom circles.

BSNL under revenue sharing basis, BSNL will not incur expenditure and much of the investment required will be borne by the vendor. This can be initiated in all 14 service areas. 4G service subscribed customers will be owned by BSNL and billing will be done by BSNL’, said BSNL Official. 


BSNL had paid Rs.8313.80 crore for 2500 MHz spectrum in all its service areas but later returned airwaves in 6 of service areas which include Andhrapradesh (Telangana), Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kolkata and Tamilnadu.
