BSNL deployed first 4G mobile tower in Shivamogga city of Karnataka State to start ultra-high speed 4G services

Union Minister of State for Communications and Railways Shri Manoj Sinha commissioned largest telecom PSUs 4G mobile tower in Shavamogga city of Karnataka State.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) lined to install its 4G towers across the country to start ultra-high speed 4G services for mobile users. In this connection BSNL programme was held at Dr.BR.Ambedkar Bhavan to install 4G tower in Karnataka city and inaugurated by shri Manoj Sinha Hon’ble MoS (C) on 24-03-2018.


In a statement Mr.Sinha said that ‘Dedicated efforts of BSNL employees, organization posted operational profits in the past three years. BSNL is upgrading its infrastructure and technology to extend quality of service and has plans to install 534 more 4G mobile towers in Karnataka circle in further’. 


We’ve noticed that private telecom operators are registering decline in the number of customers after the entry of Reliance Jio in the mobile market. Whereas, BSNL steadily increasing its number of mobile connections and BSNL introduced affordable mobile plans and broadband plans to benefit mobile customers, he added. 


He said, ‘BSNL laying optical fiber network under the Bharat Net project and achieving targets for providing high-speed internet services to rural areas through this project. Under this project the network has been laid 1.09 lakh gram panchayats by December, 2017. The remaining 1.5 lakh GPs will be covered soon. While accessing to Broadband services would bring about a comprehensive transformation in the social and economic life in rural areas, he added’.
