Increasing of tariff is common in all operators but whereas the country's largest Telecom operator BSNL now joined with them by increasing its bsnltariff.
BSNL has already revised its voice bsnltariff plans, which shows a drop in the expectation of BSNLTARIFF SMS user. Now this shows that all the operators are following one by one the same procedure to hike the tariff. According to live.bsnltalk the BSNL now charges 5p/SMS instead of 1p/SMS with new STV 13 pack. 
BSNL revised few plans and introduced a new sms pack.

The Details of Existing and Revised SMS plans of BSNLTARIFF

Existing: Rs. 13 Local & std sms @ 1p for 30 days
Revised : Local & std sms @ 5p for 30 days
Existing: Rs. 20 100 local sms/day or 2000 sms for 30 days
Revised: 100 local sms/day or 1000 sms for 15 days
Existing: Rs. 31 2000 local + 1000 std sms for 30 days
Revised: 1000 local + 500 std sms for 15 days
Existing: Rs.52 2000 local + 1000 std sms for 30 days
Revised: Rs.52 2000 local + 1000 std sms for 30 days

All plans are for both 2G and 3G prepaid users of BSNL.
New BSNL tariff is applicable from 1st September, 2011. (Its depends on BSNL Telecom Circles implementation only)

Note: The above bsnltariff MRP of the STVs is flexible of Rs. 3 (+/-) of above price subject to change, depending upon technical feasibilities available at different BSNL Telecom Circles.
BSNL Circles submits its monthly basis report to BSNL Head Quarter will observes and to be analysed and feedback for further changes required not mandatory to again change the above bsnltariff.
