According to the Telecom Ministry directed new radiation norms to manufacturing companies or importing mobile phones firms in India to ensure that the exposure of radiation emitted from a mobile phone over a gram of human tissue should not be more than 1.6 watt if a consumer uses it for 6 months.
Indian Cellular Association Official said that, with the new SAR (specific absorption rate) norm in terms of radiation emitted from mobile phones companies will have to display on handset. The most stringent norm is 1.6 watt per kg average over six minutes period on 1 gram of human tissue.
All legal and ethical companies doing business here are complaint to new radiation norms put by Telecom Ministry of India and requested to put restrictions on imports of non-complaint handsets.
