BSNL could roll out Hybrid 4G in the next 10 months

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has come up with two different plans to accelerate the Hybrid 4G services rollout process across India.

Public Telecommunications Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has come up with two different plans to accelerate the 4G rollout process in the country. BSNL's first 4G tenders had to be scrapped because the government didn't want telecoms to buy its networking equipment / equipment from foreign suppliers.

But a rapid roll-out of 4G is needed to ensure telecom survival amid competition with private operators that control most of the market.

Two plans suggested by BSNL to rollout 4G Hybrid services

As per latest information from telecommunications company, to the Government of India BSNL has suggested two plans. It is worth noting that both plans involve splitting the offer into two parts. Let's take a look at the first plan.

In the foreground, as previously mentioned, BSNL recommended dividing the offer into two parts. The first part will include 50,000 sites for Indian providers and the other part will include 50,000 sites for foreign providers such as Nokia, Samsung and Ericsson.

The telecom company said Indian suppliers can also participate in the second part of the plan if they can successfully complete tests of their technology in time.

In its second plan, BSNL again recommended splitting the offering into two parts. The second plan will focus on the five zones of India. Of the five zones, BSNL recommended reserving one zone for Indian suppliers and the other four for foreign suppliers.

The telecommunications company has asked the government to favor the first plan, as it will allow Indian suppliers to acquire a significant amount of business. So far, none of the Indian suppliers have provided telecommunications with proven technology for a core network.

BSNL has communicated the same to the government. If local companies can complete all tests in time, BSNL could roll out its 4G network in the next 10 months.

But if the tests take longer than expected, the implementation time may be extended.
