Most of the leading Telecom providers in India M/s Bharti airtel, Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular are moved in top position in India, but whereas when its comes to Mobile number portability (MNP), the customers who are not to continue in the above service providers due to several reasons eg. hike in mobile tariff, network problem, etc.willing to switch to Leading Govt sector Telecom company BSNL, These Private operator are rejecting Mobile Number Portability (MNP requests) of the Customers.
TRAI ( Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ) has been receiving complaints against all the above Private Mobile Service Providers alleging unnecessary rejection of MNP Port Out requests.
As per the information from the sources of Minister of State for Communications and IT to the Rajya Sabha, TRAI received huge complaints on the above Mobile operators as below:
- Bharati Airtel : 893 complaints
- Vodafone Essar : 792 complaints
- Idea Cellular 313 complaints
- Reliance Communications (Rcom GSM/CDMA): 307 complaints
- Tata Teleservices (Tata Docomo GSM /CDMA): 149 complaints
- Loop Mobile (formerly known as BPL Mobile).: 134 complaints
According the Govt sources on the basis of customers MNP complaints received and the information was sought by TRAI where the above Telecom providers on the rejections
and in case of violations and show-cause notices were also issued.
