Government to start SMS alerts program on fake investment schemes

Corporate Affairs Ministry planned to push SMS alerts through the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limite (BSNL) network to create awareness among investors accompanied by rising instances of people getting tricked by imitation investment plans.

Ministry soon start awareness alert SMS service by using Google package or Google enabled mechanism and also airing messages on All India Radio and Doordarshan for asking people to take knowledgeable decision before putting in their money in any investment schemes to avoid fraudulent investment.

The Ministry aim is to promote investor education and to bring awareness for growth of corporate sector across the country.

This campaign by sending sms alerts across the country would continue for about 3 months or four months by Google by using digital media targeting especially like youngsters and pensioners from making investments in fake plans.
