BSNL plans to invest Rs.830 crore in Odisha Telecom Circle for Broadband network (NOFN)

BSNL launches Fee WiFi Services at Puri Jagannath Temple.
For improving Broadband network services in Odisha Telecom Circle BSNL to invest Rs.830 crore in the financial year, said Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) during the current Financial year a project spend of Rs.830 crore for BSNL Odisha for various projects including the Rs.400 crores allocated for National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN).

PM of India Narendra Modi launched ‘Digital India’ project on 1st July, around 2.5 lakh gram panchayats would be connected with high-speed Broadband connectivity through National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN).

BSNL Launched Free WiFi services in Puri Jagannath (Odisha Telecom) initially Free WiFi services available between the Jagannath temple and Mausi Maa temple during the ongoing Nabakalebar festival and Bahuda Yatra and ensuing ‘Jagannath Rath Yatra’. 

BSNL through optical fiber can facilitate broadband connectivity upto 100MB per second. BSNL provides Free WiFi services for 30 minutes first per 24 hours to three times in a month after that user have to buy WiFi vouchers for further usage.

Customer after complete of initial offered Free 30 minutes can use further by subscribing plans available with denominations of Rs.30 for 30 minutes, Rs.50 for 60 minutes Rs.90 for 120 minutes and Rs.150 for 120 minutes respectively, said BSNL CMD.

Minister said, BSNL plans to upgrade all Old existing telephone exchanges with the advanced technology ‘Next Generation Network (NGN).
