BSNL has decided to shutdown CDMA Voice and EVDO services in UP West Circle

BSNL has announced to close CDMA Voice and EVDO services in Northern region telecom Circle under CDMA services.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) based on poor performance, low revenue and has small customer base has decided to shutdown CDMA services in UP-West Telecom Circle.
As per latest information, BSNL will convey the message of shutting down of CDMA services to its subscribers through SMS, email etc. BSNL has not announced any date but will be implementing in January, 2016. 


Customers already subscribed to CDMA services BSNL facilitates an option to migrate to BSNL’s GSM 2G/3G network or Landline network.


Special tariff offer will be given existing CDMA customers to retain them and to help them in migrating to BSNL’s 2G/3G/Landline network though MNP (Mobile Number Portability) or otherwise.


After closure of CDMA services in UP-West Circle the equipment will be diverted to other Telecom Circle for proper maintenance of CDMA network where maximum revenue and subscribers. 


Earlier BSNL shutdown its CDMA operations in Kolkata Telecom Circle and had surrendered 1.25 MHz CDMA spectrum in many circles. BSNL has got permission from TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) to hold one carrier (1.2 MHz) in all the service areas with the exception of North-East, Assam and Jammu and Kashmir.
