No Extra charges for SMS and Calls on Blackout days

TRAI has directed all the Telecom Operators for not to charge Calls or SMSs beyond the existing telecomtariff plans which were subscribed by customers on “Blackout days” especially like New Year, Diwali and Dussera.
No Telecom Operator would allow customers Free or concession SMS or Calls on “Blackout days” under any type of Telecomtariff package in festival occasions.

TRAI has passed clear instruction to the Telecom Operators to list out Blackout days for every calendar year and should intimate the customers about via their official website or via SMS for every six months. According to new guidelines blackout days should not exceed five in a calendar year and no alteration will be allowed after customer subscribing to any telecomtariff plan.
