Why Telecom Operators Hike Mobile Phone Tariff?

Telecom Operators after offering a Free Roaming across India then definitely loss in revenue would occur upto eight to ten percentage. Government of India announced to reduce their revenue by dropping license fees upto three percent to compensate from for loss in revenue.
At the same time Telecom Operators are very much worried about after Government announcement of “Free Roaming” then searched necessary alternatives to covert their revenue loss.
Recently Public Sector Unit Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has also announced rationalization of Tariff under both 2G and 3G Voice, SMS, Data services and introduced new Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) with attractive Unlimited call feature to its valuable customers.
Now, after following BSNL the leading Telecom Operator in India Airtel has also announced 25%  hike in 2G data plan tariff by restricting customer free data usage from 2GB to 1GB.
The remaining Telecom Operators like Idea, Vodafone are also indirectly announced to hike mobile phone tariff to cover up the loss.
Announcement of Free Roaming definitely benefit to Mobile users and loss to Telecom Operators. But, at the same time the situation created by the Government to increase Mobile Tariff by reducing Free Data Usage under 3G and revised Voucher MRP rate.
