BSNL Prepaid slashed all Voice call rates to Nepal by about 35%

BSNL introduced new Special Tariff Voucher (STV) allows Prepaid mobile users to call Nepal at affordable rate compare to Major Private Telecom players.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) reduced call rates to Nepal upto 35 percent as the Prime Minister’s Office has raised the matter after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Nepal in August, 2014 wherein people brought to notice of Prime Minister about high calling rate to Nepal from India.

BSNL offers cheaper call tariff to its subscribers compare with Private Telecom companies like Bharati Airtel and Vodafone charging Rs.12 per minute for calls to Nepal.

BSNL introduced New Special Tariff Voucher (STD STV)of Rs.18 only to make all Voice calls to Nepal at Rs.6.50 per minute comes with validity for 30 days. BSNL maintains a little margin profit of just 50 paisa on each call the rest of value adjusted to taxes, termination charges, spectrum fee etc.
